After obtaining a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering in 1997, Joe Thomas started a medical software company with his college roommate. He is no stranger to hard work, as he was able to grow and then sell this business over a period of three years. Joe continued in his position with the new owners for the next six years to ensure the success of the company. He went on to develop other software companies that were eventually sold to other entrepreneurs as well.

 
Joe entered the financial services industry for a new challenge. He works with small to medium sized businesses helping them maximize their benefit dollars and to offer solutions to better protect the business entity. He also provides unique solutions to address the individual financial planning needs of all employees. He is always an advocate of the client, not the Insurance or Investment Company. Specializing in benefits, he is equipped to help employees understand their benefits and better plan for the future.  Joe is most passionate about disability insurance; he believes no financial plan is complete without appropriate and holistic disability insurance planning. When you meet with Joe, one thing is for sure, you will leave feeling well informed and focused.  Joe believes the financial industry should not be about selling product, but rather about listening to clients to identify potential concerns and then working with the client to develop solutions that can address these concerns.
 
Joe is an achieved Eagle Scout, the first “Pacesetter” award winner with the Principal Financial Group in Birmingham, two year running “Ambassador of the Year” of the Birmingham Business Alliance, and currently chairs both the Hoover and Birmingham Chamber Ambassador Committees. He is a Board Member of the Birmingham Entrepreneurs and the incoming Vice-President of the “Elite” chapter of Business Networking International (BNI), Birmingham, Alabama where he has been recognized as a Notable Networker.
